We caught up with the Reece team, who shared with us the latest trends and what will make the bathroom of the future.
What are the most popular trends at the moment?
We’re seeing a real gravitation towards spaces that are inviting. In the bathroom this has meant for organic, round shapes that are tactile and soothing. Wellness continues to be a central theme for bathrooms, coupled with hygiene. There’s been a transformation in how we adopt technology in the bathroom to work for the user and tie in seamlessly with the organic/ minimal design. This is delivered through the likes of handsfree taps, sensor toilet buttons and smart toilets.
What products are timeless for a bathroom?
Timeless for the bathroom comes down to the user and their needs, having said that – there are a few indulgences and items that we have for consideration:
- Double Showers. Being able to have two showers for an ensuite creates a sense of sanctuary and personalisation for each user. Consider Twin Rail Showers or the combination of an overhead and hand piece.
- Freestanding bath. A centrepiece for a bathroom, ultimate indulgence and great for resale.
- Rimless toilet. Sounds simple, however functionality and convenience in our opinion create easier to clean toilets and more hygienic spaces.

Chrome
Chrome, displayed in the Whitehaven, is the winner when it comes to tapware design and has been the most popular in Australians’ bathrooms.
Easy to clean: Scratches and fingerprints don’t tend to show up as much on chrome tapware. If there are any minor marks, they’re also easy to wipe clean without damaging the material.
Stand the test of time: “Chrome is a class go-to colour that is simply timeless, and its versatile; playing the charming traditional role in a Hamptons home and takes on a modern look when paired well with pops of colour.”, tells the Reece team.
Matte Black
Matte black tapware, as you can see in the gorgeous Banksia, is very trendy and will bring a modern, industrial touch to your bathroom. The sleek look is becoming more and more popular and is here to stay!
Chic and sleek: Just like in fashion, you can say black goes with everything. It’s chic, trendy and instantly has a ‘wow’ factor when you enter your bathroom. “Black applies a modern feel to any space and can tie into the home accessories seamlessly, creating a consistent story.”, the Reece team explains.
Gold
Gold tapware is back on trend! We love it in the Rosewood display home. It’s synonym of luxury, with a touch of classic. But beware, this look is not for everyone and will be more of a statement in your bathroom.
Elegant and flexible: Flexibility is key, so you can change elements easily when you get bored of a particular style. Gold pairs well with different aesthetics, from luxe-coastal to modern-country styles. “Gold, in both a polished or brushed becomes the jewellery of the bathroom, decadent. It’s also tactile, which means it’s inviting to use and brings greater depth to a space.”, shares the team at Reece.
